name:
Identification of an immunodominant antigenic site involving the capsid protein VP3 of hepatitis A virus.
description:
Residue is present on capsid protein VP3.
Escape mutants of antibody K2-4F2 were isolated and sequenced. The S30 strain resistant to K2-4F2 was also resistant to neutralization by antibodies 6A5, 10.09, 1B9, and partially resistant to K3-4C8, K3-2F2, 813, 2D2, 3E1, and B5-B3. This cross-resistance suggests that the epitopes recognized by these antibodies comprise a single functional antigen domain.
