In order to test antiviral binding activity, pooled sera from all three strains (BALB/c, C57BL/6 and NIH Swiss) were tested against DEN 2 virus by ELISA. Sera from mice immunized with the peptide 4-6 bound poorly to the virus. In an antipeptide ELISA (Figure 1), the highest responses to this peptide were observed in BALB/c mice.
