name:
Mapping of functional regions of Clostridium perfringens type A enterotoxin.
description:
The amino acid sequence was determined from the reference cited by the authors in the manuscript.
This fragment of the Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin (aa 290-319) was shown to bind to its proteinaceous receptor(s), but did not induce cell cytotoxicity. The synthetic peptide of this fragment was weakly recognized by the monoclonal antibody, however the fragment genetically produced in E. coli lysates was not recognized.
