Peptides derived from the SARS CoV N protein sequence were synthesized as 15-mer fragments with 10 amino acid overlaps that covered the entire length of the N protein of the Urbani.
In order to identify immunodominant B cell epitopes within the N protein of SARS CoV, a panel of 80 overlapping 15mer peptides representing the entire protein were screened for reactivity to sera from 5 human SARS patients. This peptide failed to induce significant reactivity.
