| name: |
Localization of four antigenic sites involved in Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis virus protection.
|
| description: |
The sequence in swissprot corresponds to a 1254 amino acid polyprotein sequence that encompasses capsid coat protein and spike glycoproteins E1, E2 and E3. Spike glycoprotein E2 corresponds to sequence 335 to 757 in swissprot.
In another experiment, hemagglutination inhibition tests were performed using goose erythrocytes and VEE virus antigen. Protective MAb activity was assayed on out bred albino mice. Also, ELISA was performed on VEE and neutralization escape variants. Escape variants obtained with MAb 5A12 responded similarly to wild type virus.
