The phage displayed peptide is shown to be recognized by the mAb used for immunopanning. This peptide doesn't crossreact with other 5 anti-carbohydrate antibodies. The binding is shown to be inhibited by incubation with the cognate trisaccharide methyl 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-3-O-[(3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl)-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl]-beta-D-glucopyranoside, implying that the recognition of the peptide is at or near the carbohydrate binding site.
