| description: |
The amino acid sequences are provided in Pevear et al. (1987) J Virol 61:1507, and the exact sequences were confirmed by the author via e-mail. The paper references amino acid positions of the processed VP1 peptide, whereas the sequence source database uses the amino acid positions of the genomic polyprotein from which the peptide is derived.
Antisera from BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice injected subcutaneously with TMEV reacted with the fragment containing this epitope; weak reactivity against SJL/J mouse antisera was obtained. No reactivity was obtained in any strain after intracranial infection. The reactive fragment also contains the first 16 aa of peptide 2A of TMEV.
