name:
Mapping of the regions on the heavy chain of botulinum neurotoxin A (BoNT/A) recognized by antibodies of cervical dystonia patients with immunoresistance to BoNT/A.
description:
This sequence is located in the HC domain of BoNT A Heavy chain. This protein is also known by its commercial name, BOTOX.
Ratios of signal of antibody bound to peptide to antibody bound to negative peptides or BSA above 1.60 were considered positive. Twenty-six out of 28 patients had positive responses to this peptide. Also a positive response was obtained when a pool of equal volumes of sera from all the 28 subjects was used. This region overlapped with a region previously shown to bind mouse brain synaptosomes.
