Mapping of the regions on the heavy chain of botulinum neurotoxin A (BoNT/A) recognized by antibodies of cervical dystonia patients with immunoresistance to BoNT/A.
|
| description: |
This sequence is located in the HC domain of BoNT A Heavy chain. This peptide was previously shown to bind mouse brain synaptosomes. This protein is also known by its commercial name, BOTOX.
Ratios of signal of antibody bound to peptide to antibody bound to negative peptides or BSA above 1.60 were considered positive. Two out of 28 patients had a weak positive response to this peptide, but when a pool of equal volumes of sera from all the 28 subjects was used, the response was negative. This region coincided completely with a region previously shown to bind mouse brain synaptosomes.
