In order to determine whether the p26-45 20mer contained the original B cell epitope spanning p34-43, p35-44 and p36-45, these peptides were tested against sera from B10 mice immunized with the peptide 26-45. Reactivity was strongest against p36-45 for IgG, IgG1 and IgA, suggesting that the major B cell epitope spans p36-45.
