The immunogenicity of peptide 26-45 was tested in H-2d mice immunized with this peptide alone or conjugated to ovalbumin (OVA). LT-B-specific IgA was generated following p26-45 immunization. However, this response was nearly half that observed when using p26-45 as antigen. Positive reactivity of IgA to LT-B was confirmed by western blot analysis (Figure 7). Mice immunized with the peptide-OVA conjugate showed similar responsiveness. Three different mouse strains (B10.D2, B10, and B10.BR) were immunized with similar results.
