description:	Epitope mapping was performed using a library of 100 overlapping dodecamers, shifted by 2 amino acids, spanning residues 23-232 of the mature mouse prion protein. The epitope of MAb POM5 was deduced based on the ability of dodecamers to inhibit binding of the antibody to mouse PrP(23-230).
