description:	The numbering of the peptide is based on the alignment of sequences from multiple species. Antibody to the epitope crossreacted with the homologous ovine PrP epitope. Preabsorption of antibody to the epitope with 100 µg/ml of the homologous sheep peptide inhibited binding in a Western blot to protease K-treated PrP^BSE from infected bovine brain.
