Only 2 of 4 antisera from either immunized B10.BR or B10.S(7R) mice reacted with HCl-extracted M-5 protein in ELISA, while three sera from peptide immunized B10.D2 mice were negaitve. Boost immunization with peptide in B10.S(7R) mice enhanced cross-reactivity to porcine heart myosin. Antisera from immunized B10.BR mice also reacted with porcine heart myosin, HCl-extracted M protein, and human heart tissue proteins on immunoblot, while antisera from immunized B10.S(7R) only reacted with M protein but human heart tissue proteins.
