name:
Mimicry between the hepatitis C virus polyprotein and antigenic targets of nuclear and smooth muscle antibodies in chronic hepatitis C virus infection.
description:
43% of serum from chronic hepatitis virus infected patients reacted with the epitope while none of the serum from patients with other liver diseases or healthy controls bound the epitope. The antibody titre to the epitope was significantly lower in HCV patients treated with IFNa therapy as compared to the untreated patients.
