description:	20% of serum from chronic hepatitis virus infected patients reacted with the epitope while serum from 1 patient with autoimmune hepatitis (n=24), 1 patient with Wilson's disease, and 3 patients with chronic HBV (n=24) and none of the serum from patients with other liver diseases or healthy controls bound the epitope. The antibody titre to the epitope was similar in HCV patients treated with IFNa therapy and in untreated patients.
