name:
Comparative characterization of antigenic epitopes in the immunodominant region of the protein encoded by open reading frame 3 in Burmese and Mexican strains of hepatitis E virus.
description:
The sequence is from the C-terminal region of the HEV ORF 3 protein.
Guinea pig anti-peptide 28 serum was assayed against a panel of overlapping hexamer sequences covering residues 91-123 of the ORF 3 protein of the Burmese and Mexican strains of HEV. A Lys residue was added to the N terminus and 2 Gly residues were added to the C terminus of the hexamers to improve solubility and plate adsorption. Anti-peptide 28 did not react with the epitope or with peptides from the Burmese strain.
