name:
Immune response to epitopes of hepatitis C virus (HCV) structural proteins in HCV-infected humans and chimpanzees.
description:
Thirty-one overlapping peptides were synthesized to span the entire length (aa1-191) of the HCV (H strain) capsid protein.
Serum samples taken from both acutely and chronically infected individuals were tested for reactivity against overlapping peptides spanning the capsid, E1 and E2 proteins of HCV. Reactivity was similar in those with chronic infections. Some differences in peptide reactivity were observed between the acute and chronic phases of HCV infection.
