Synthetic peptide immunogens elicit polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies specific for linear epitopes in the D motifs of Staphylococcus aureus fibronectin-binding protein, which are composed of amino acids that are essential for fibronectin binding.
|
| description: |
Antibodies inhibited fibronectin binding to tandem D1-2 motif-containing , but not D1-3 nor D3 motif-containing GST fusion protein coated on plates. However, no inhibition of binding to the D1-2 fusion protein was observed when finbronectin coated on plates. Greater inhibition of finbronectin binding to D1-3 motif containing GST fusion protein coated on plates was observed, but not S. aureus binding to coated fibronectin nor keratinocyte ECM.
