| name: |
Characterization of lethal factor binding and cell receptor binding domains of protective antigen of Bacillus anthracis using monoclonal antibodies.
|
| description: |
Amino acid residues of the peptide are numbered from the N-terminal glutamic acid of mature PA.
In vivo neutralization of lethal toxin in rats was achieved with 926, 23, and 1000 µg of MAbs 3B6PA, 14B7PA, and 10E10PA63 ascites Ig, respectively. MAb 3B6PA or 14B7PA preincubated with PA and LF before addition to J774A.1 cells neutralized lethal toxin cytolytic activity. MAb 10E10PA63 showed weak neutralizing activity. MAbs 3B6PA, 14B7PA, and 10E10PA63 inhibited binding of PA to cells by 90-98%, but did not significantly inhibit binding of LF to cell-bound PA.
