Anti-D121-34 F(ab')2 fragments recognize fibronectin binding protein (FnBP) purified from S. aureus Newman. Increasing concentrations of soluble fibronectin competed for binding to FnBP. The authors conclude that the epitope contains residues critical for fibronectin binding.
