Preimmunization samples, medium without serum, and viral-like particles (VLPs) were used as negative controls. Serum samples were collected at day 71. KLH-conjugated samples showed no detectable levels of neutralizing activity. Samples from mice immunized with the recombinant B19 VLPs tandem epitope showed higher neutralizing activity than the group immunized with the recombinant B19 VLPs single epitope.
