Overlapping peptides were synthesized from the mature streptococcal M5 protein.
Anti-M5 peptide mouse sera was tested for reactivity against human cardiac myosin. While positive, reactvity generated by this peptide was of low titer. Reactivity was confirmed by Western blot analysis.
