36 samples of chronic hepatitis patients were tested for the presence of anti-HGV E2 protein as an indication of recovery from HGV. 13 patients tested positive and 23 tested negative by ELISA. 2 out of 13 (15%) and 1 out of 23 (4%) tested positive when the epitope was used as antigen.
