name:
Antigenicity of chimeric and cyclic synthetic peptides based on nonstructural proteins of GBV-C/HGV.
description:
Two epitopes and a triglycyl spacer between them were synthesized resulting in NS5a(112-126)GGG NS4b(8-22) chimeric peptide.
35 samples of the hemodialyzed patients were tested for the presence of anti-HGV E2 protein as an indication of recovery from HGV. 11 patients tested positive and 24 tested negative by ELISA. 4 out of 11 (36%) and 10 out of 24 (41%) tested positive when the epitope was used as antigen.
