description:	N2a cells were infected with the mouse-adapted scrapie strain 22L. Culturing N2a/22L cells in the presence of epitope-specific MAb 7H6 abrogated PrP^sc without affecting the level of PrP^c, as detected by immunoblotting PK-resistant PrP^sc and total untreated PrP in cell lysates.The effect of treatment with MAb 7H6 persisted for 14 days in the absence of antibody. MAb 7H6 did not have a trophic or toxic effect on N2a/22L cells.
