Mimotopes of the hyper variable region 1 of the hepatitis C virus induce cross-reactive antibodies directed against discontinuous epitopes.
|
| description: |
Amino acids at position 3, 11, 18, 21, 22 and 24 within the 27-mer peptide discriminated frequency of cross-reactivity with HCV patient sera. The sequence was from cited reference (S. Zucchelli et al, Hepatology, (2001) 33:692-703)
The epitope specific antisera cross-reacted with 42 out of 43 HCV hyper variable region 1 sequences (27-mer) chosen from 234 natural isolates by the Sequencespace algorithm with equally distant position as representatives of the vial variability. The epitope-specific antisera also reacted with 7 out of 10 mimotopes from phage display library inserted in E2 glycoprotein by ELISA.
