| name: |
Antibody responses to hepatitis C virus hypervariable region 1: evidence for cross-reactivity and immune-mediated sequence variation.
|
| description: |
The sequence is from hypervariable region 1 (HVR1
amino acids 391-406) of the HCV E2 protein from the dominant sequence isolated from HCV-infected patient C at baseline.
A patient's sera cross-reacted with the epitope and with peptide P4, the sequence of which was derived from the sera donor and shares 7 positions. Binding of the patient's sera to the epitope was inhibited 73.7% by absorption of the sera with immobilized peptide P4. Binding to the epitope was inhibited 76.8% by absorption of the sera with immobilized epitope.
