The results were expressed as SFU/105 cells. Mononuclear cells were purified from peripheral blood. Cultures were considered to be positive if the number of spots was greater than or equal to 5. To look for cross-reactivity the cells stimulated by LJ3 were tested again with total falciparum extract (Pf), or with peptides LJ5 and R8.
