The antibody response to the peptide was measured in both symptomatic (ongoing clinical malaria episode), and asymptomatic Sudanese donors. Reactivity was significantly higher in the group of donors with asymptomatic infection compared to the group experiencing a symptomatic infection. Also, antibody levels increased with age.
