| name: |
Identification and chemical synthesis of a tandemly repeated immunogenic region of Plasmodium knowlesi circumsporozoite protein.
|
| description: |
The authors deduce that mAb 2G3 binds to the epitope because a 24-mer peptide containing two tandem repeats of the epitope binds two molecules of antibody in a two-site immunoradiometric assay. The 12-mer epitope cannot bind two molecules of 2G3 simultaneously. The 24-mer peptide also bound to immobilzed mAbs 5H8, 8B8, and 8A8 made against P. knowlesi circumsporozoite protein. The authors conclude that tandemly repeated epitopes constitute the correct deduced sequence of a partial cDNA clone (pEG81) of the P. knowlesi circumsporozoite protein.
