The epitope was designed based upon the antigenic repeat from Plasmodium falciparum 11-1 protein 1082-1090.
Antibody raised to the epitope bound the epitope by ELISA in H-2k and H-2d mice, but not in H-2b, H-2g, and H-2f mice. Antibody specificity was demonstrated through inhibition of binding to the epitope by the epitope.
