| name: |
Peptide mapping of conformational epitopes in a human malarial parasite heat shock protein.
|
| description: |
The protein is a member of the heat shock protein 70 family.
It was deduced that the epitope was recognized by sera from owl monkeys immune to P. falciparum. Sera from 4 of 4 immune monkeys bound to peptide 4, derived from residues 141-204 and which contains the epitope, whereas only 1 of 4 sera bound to peptide 3, derived from residues 156-204 and which does not contain the epitope. Residues 143-154 are predicted to form a hydrophilic helical region in the C7 protein.
