Synthetic malaria peptide vaccine elicits high levels of antibodies in vaccinees of defined HLA genotypes.
|
| description: |
The epitope contains a T cell epitope T1 (DPNANPNVDPNANPNV) and a B ecll epitope (NANPNANPNANP) of P. falciparum circumsporozoite protein.
Indirect immunofluorescence assay with viable P. falciparum sporozoites was used to measure Ab titers. Higher specific Ab responses were observed in volunteers with HLA-DQB1*0603, DRB1*0401 or DRB1*1101. There were no or lower responses for volunteers with other random HLA class II alleles or immunized without adjuvant QS-21.
