name:
Construction of a synthetic immunogen: use of the natural immunomodulator polytuftsin in malaria vaccines against RESA antigen of Plasmodium falciparum.
description:
Sera from mice immunized with the epitope, the epitope and polytuftsin, or peptide conjugates consisting of 6-8 copies of the epitope linked to polytuftsin inhibited merozoite reinvasion in all mice strains tested (H-2a, H-2b, H-2d, H-2i, and H-2k). Immunization with epitope conjugates resulted increased responses as compared to immunization with the epitope alone.
