Recognition of the upper band of the 310 kDa doublet of Pfs230 is seen in immunoblots of gamete extracts when developed with anti-peptide antibodies. It is mentioned that the unprocessed 363 kDa form is also detected from gametocyte extracts, but that since that form is scarce in gametes, it cannot be detected here. Immunoprecipitation experiments of radiolabeled extract yielded negative results.
