name:
Cross-reactive antigenic determinants present on different Plasmodium falciparum blood-stage antigens.
description:
The ring-infested erythrocyte surface antigen (RESA) contains multiple tandem repeats of the sequence EENV.
Human mAb 33G2, which binds with the epitope, reacted with plaques of recombinant clone RESA-3' , expressing the ring-infected erythrocyte surface antigen C-terminal region. MAb 33G2 cross-reacts with three distinct P. falciparum blood-stage recombinant gene products, encoding the ring-infected erythrocyte surface antigen C-terminal region (RESA-3'), the 332 antigen, or the 11.1 antigen.
