This peptide mimics the epitope found in Mr 42000 C-terminal fragment of Plasmodium vivax merozoite surface protein 1 (PvMSP1) that is bound by the monoclonal antibody D14-3.
The mimotope inhibited the binding of monoclonal antibody D14-3 to Pv42 (the C-terminal fragment of Plasmodium vivax merozoite surface protein). As there is no sequence in Pv42 that is identical, it is deemed to mimic the epitope of D14-3 on Pv42.
