name:
Heat shock response of Babesia divergens and identification of the hsp70 as an immunodominant early antigen during ox, gerbil and human babesiosis.
description:
The sequence is described in the reference cited: Richman et al. (1989) J. Immunol. 143: 285-293. The sequence is from the P. falciparum hsp75 molecule, a member of the heat shock protein 70 family.
Sera from rabbits immunized with the epitope immunoprecipitated a single protein of Mr 70,000, designated hsp70, from 35S-methionine labelled B. divergens Rouen1987 polypeptides. The antisera also recognized hsp70 on Western blots of different human (LeMans 1988 and Rouen1987) or bovine isolates (Munich 1987, Taylor Y5, Weybridge 8843, and 7107 B) of B. divergens from various geograhic origins. The authors conclude that B. divergens hsp70 is highly conserved.
