Involvement of Pf155/RESA and cross-reactive antigens in Plasmodium falciparum merozoite invasion in vitro.
|
| description: |
Anti-peptide IgG was purified from a malaria-immune donor by affinity chromatography. This fraction gives positive staining of fixed RESA+ P.falciparum-infected erythocytes, but not if they are infected with a RESA- strain (although cross-reactivity to other antigens is inferred since in conventional unfixed IFA and in inhibition assays, both strains are equally recognized/inhibited by theses Abs, and the inhibitory activity is specifically reversed by soluble RESA protein).
