| name: |
Epitope specificity and capacity to inhibit parasite growth in vitro of human antibodies to repeat sequences of the Plasmodium falciparum antigen Ag332.
|
| description: |
The epitope sequence was derived from Ag332 of P. falciparum. However, the exact sequence as it is represented by the authors in the synthetic peptide was not found following BLAST search.
IgG fractions from Liberian blood donors were affinity purified using synthetic peptides corresponding to Ag332 peptides. Antibodies from one donor reacted positively (percent eluted) with the homologous peptide (epitope) used for purification. Pepscan analysis revealed fine specificity of Ag332 (2-12)2 purified antibodies to be to TVAEE.
