description:	Epitope-specific antisera raised in rabbits were used to assay for the presence of X reactive determinants in HBV and other related viruses. Peptide 99 antisera reacted [by RIA and Western] with the hepatitis B virus core antigen (HBcAg). Pre-incubation of peptide antisera with the respective synthetic peptide blocked the reactivity.
