The epitope is based on the sequence from the Pf332 protein of Plasmodium falciparum.
To assess the specificity of the antibodies, the binding of the mouse sera to its corresponding immunogen peptide bound to BB (HSA-binding region of streptococcal protein G) was inhibited by the epitope. Sera from mice of strain B10.D2 was also similar.
