Immunological cross-reactivity between preS2 sequences of the hepatitis B virus envelope proteins corresponding to serological subtypes adw2 and ayw.
|
| description: |
The epitope was capable of out-competing epitope-specific rabbit antisera for binding to the preS2(ayw)-beta-gal probe. Antibodies generated against the epitope had a much less narrow subtype specificity than the HBsAg antisera or the McAb F376. A further analysis using a double-antibody assay confirmed that the epitope-specific sera were broadly subtype-cross-reactive. A Gly-Gly-Cys-amide was added to the C terminus.
