| name: |
De novo design of peptide immunogens that mimic the coiled coil region of human T-cell leukemia virus type-1 glycoprotein 21 transmembrane subunit for induction of native protein reactive neutralizing antibodies.
|
| description: |
This peptide was chosen as it corresponds to the central region of the coiled coil segment of GP21 trasmembrane subunit and is involved in the fusion of viral and cellular membranes and syncytia formation between infected cells. When used as an isolated peptide, the C-terminus was also amidated.
Mouse antisera was raised to a construct where this peptide is linked in a 3meric form to facilitate the interaction into a native coiled-coil structure. The antisera recongition of the immunogen is inhibited by the isolated peptide in competition ELISA.
