| name: |
Neonatal and maternal immunological responses to conserved epitopes within the DBL-gamma3 chondroitin sulfate A-binding domain of Plasmodium falciparum erythrocyte membrane protein 1.

| description: |
This sequence is confirmed by the authors to be used in the assays, even when the sequence presented in the manuscript has a T instead of I listed at position 4.
The proportion of cord blood samples positive for IgM specificity towards this peptide is higher from neonates whose mothers had P.falciparum-positive placental tissue than those that were treated for P.falciparum infection or were exposed but with negative placental infection. The mothers of all 3 groups also had levels of IgM, and IgG, to this peptide above non-exposed controls.
