| name: |
Sera of leprosy patients with type 2 reactions recognize selective sequences in Mycobacterium leprae recombinant LSR protein.
|
| description: |
Sera from 59.0% of patients with erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL), 47.9% of lepromatous leprosy patients with a history of reaction or 32.8% of those with stable infection, 42.8% of tuberculoid leprosy patients, and 16.6% of healthy leprosy household contacts reacted with the epitope by ELISA. The RGD motif was shown to play a role in recognition as peptides with this motif at the end of the peptide had enhanced binding as compared to this epitope with RGD in the middle.
