| name: |
Sera of leprosy patients with type 2 reactions recognize selective sequences in Mycobacterium leprae recombinant LSR protein.
|
| description: |
Sera from 81.8% of patients with erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL), 12.5% of lepromatous leprosy patients with a history of reaction or 48.8% of those with stable infection, 55.8% of tuberculoid leprosy patients, and 44.4% of healthy leprosy household contacts reacted with the epitope by ELISA. The RGD motif was shown to play a role in recognition as peptides with this motif deleted or in the middle of the peptide had decreased binding as compared to this epitope with RGD at the end of the sequence.
