description:	Epitope was identified by using purified glycopeptidolipid (GLP) with various carbohydrate moieties from M. fortuitum cmplex (M. peregrinum, M. abscessus and M. chelonae) and by beta-elimination with alkaline borohydride. The reactivity to this epitope was inferred since recognition of the GPL by antisera from M. peregrinum lipid extract immunized animals was affected by beta-elimination.
