Definition of the primary structure of hepatitis B virus (HBV) pre-S hepatocyte binding domain using random peptide libraries.
|
| description: |
This peptide was derived from a phage display library for its binding to an anti-HBsAg mAb shown to recognize regions 28-37 and 131-142 of the pre-S region. This mimotope shares the motif DPXF with residues 31-34 and with other peptides recognized by the mAb.
Mice immunized with the peptide (either phage displayed or as a free peptide coadministered with a Thelper peptide) show similar titers to the immunogenic peptide than to a peptide corresponding to residues 20-45 of pre-S HBsAg containing the region it was deduced to mimic based on their sequence similarities. Also the sera is able to recognize the complete Pre-S HBsAg protein.
